KitchenAid KSM152PSCP Custom Metallic Series 5-Quart Mixer, Satin Copper

Copper Lovers Dream Mixer
Only a true Kitchen Aid mixer fan would buy so many of these. I started out over twenty years ago with a cream one, traded, then got the 5 qt industrial gray and gave it to my sister, then a black 5 qt which my husband gave to a friend because he felt we didn't need two, and my favorite, this one. I also gave a cobalt blue 5 qt to my brother in law although he rarely cooks and often works in Belgium and Japan; and a bright red one for another friend. I sold commercial restaurant equipment for 17 years and their products were essential to our business so I write from more than personal experience.

For my home with cherry cupboards the rich copper mixer earns a place on my counter. This is a hard working and beautiful companion in the kitchen especially if you can't afford the space or price of its larger model. I will be getting the new sweep batter paddle for it next since I already have grinders, juicers and every other attachment.

Just remember these are very...

Scones galore !
The music of bread preparation in the kitchen is only exceeded by its aromas.

This machine makes magic: it's sturdy, powerful and easily manipulated.

problems with satin copper finish
I initially owned a KitchenAid mixer with a textured gray finish, and I was perfectly happy with how well it worked. Then I saw the Professional 620 mixer in Williams-Sonoma with this gorgeous satin copper finish. When I had my counter tops replaced with black granite that had tiny copper flecks in it, I knew I had to splurge on the mixer (the Professional 620 costs about $900 at Williams-Sonoma as well as on the KitchenAid website). I gave away my first gray mixer and set this new copper beauty on my kitchen counter. As time has gone on, however, the finish is acquiring more and more black spots that do not wash off. The spots also have a feel to them--almost as though the finish has worn away and left a shallow pit. I returned to Williams-Sonoma recently to inquire if there was a product that I could use to try to remove the black spots, and they didn't seem to know what to do about the problem. They said they had never heard the complaint before, but when they inspected the...

Factory-Reconditioned Cuisinart DCC-1200FR Brew Central 12-Cup Coffeemaker, Brushed Stainless Steel

Minor design flaws keep this good coffeemaker from greatness
Would I buy this coffee maker for the full price of the new model? Probably not. But the reconditioned one is a great value.

It looks great, as is apparent from the photo. Keep in mind, though, that as a reconditioned unit, it may have some minor blemishes to its appearance. Mine, for example, has a very small dent in the stainless steel on its left side. It's not noticable unless you're looking for it, and that alone wouldn't keep me from recommending this coffee maker. (Also, as previous reviewers have noted, this model does NOT come with a permanent filter like the new model does.)

What's a little iffier about it, though, are a couple strange design issues that affect usability.

Every coffee maker I've ever owned has had a flip-top carafe--but not this one. You have to physically remove the lid to pour water into the carafe--a minor inconvenience, but an inconvenience nonetheless.

You need the carafe to measure water, because there's no water-level indicator on the coffee...

So far, so good!
This is my second attempt into the "higher end" coffeemaker ranks, and I can honestly say the Cuisinart Brew Central has fulfilled all my expectations.

The coffee is just marvelous! It works fast and quick, and it's H-O-T, which is fine by me since the previous Krups disaster absolutely blew big time and produced marginally warm coffee at best.

I'm no coffee diva, but I grind my own beans and have for years. Of course it takes a little fine-tuning to get the right measure of coffee vs. water, but I hit the mark on the second pot.

My local tap water is actually very good, so I didn't think the charcoal filter would do much. But actually, the coffee tastes even better - so who knows? I think I'd try brewing coffee without the filter once this one wears out, just to see if there's much of a difference.

I purposely bought a reconditioned machine, since I spent $100 on the previous Krups horror, and I didn't want another repeat of a waste of money. My Cuisinart arrived...

I now own two.
I bought one full price and one refurbished (for the office) and I love both. Very easy to use, the self cleaning function is what I really appreciate. I run the simple cleaning process every week and the coffee maker always brews fresh, clean coffee without that dirty bitter flavor found in most cups of office coffee. My only caution is to be careful pouring the water into the maker -- the drain opening is rather small so be careful. Otherwise, a dependable coffee maker (I've had my first one for over a year) that looks great on the counter.

Jura Cool Control Basic

Had only short time BUT time will tell
I previously had the larger Jura 67083 which lasted almost 3 years. Wanted same product but on a smaller scale. This is what I got with the smaller Basic unit...almost.

Be aware that the lid is NOT threaded to seal like the larger cooler, thus if you use Skim milk like I do & try to shake it to combine contents, you will likely have milk all over. So it makes me unsettled that the milk will be getting more air to it. Also, I just have noticed other reviews stating that the motor does not run constantly. Evidently, once temp. is reached it shuts itself down then back on when cooling is needed...Not sure if I like that either. The other review stated that they contacted Jura & the company suggested that the steel container be put in fridge over night if in doubt...huh??? Time will tell...

Cool Control
Does everything required. Whether for daily use for yourself or for more than one, it's nice not having to go get milk constantly.

Vinotemp VT-6TEDS Thermo-Electric Digital 6-Bottle Wine Chiller, Black and Stainless

In agreement with Pablo
Also agree that the factory packaging is sub-par. My unit arrived with the cabinet very slightly skewed ( you have to look pretty hard to notice it), and needed to use the leveling feet to sit it straight. Nevertheless, a fine little unit which looks great on the countertop, holds the set-point temperature perfectly, and makes absolutely no noise whatsoever.

Stopped working after a year...
I bought this from Home Depot for my mom as a Christmas present last year. It has just stopped working (the display and light still work but it simply will not get cold). So here I am thinking that I am still within a 1 year warranty. Well I went to the manual and of course the warranty was something like 60 or 90 days. That's unbelievable for a $150 product. An attempt to contact Vinotemp through their website went unanswered. Just buy this product at your own risk and see if you can maybe purchase an extended warranty through a provider like SquareTrade or something.

Item acceptable.Poorly packaged.
Wine cooler has nice appearance and seems to hold prescribed temperature well, but lower portion of packaging almost completely separated from unit in transit.

Hamilton Beach 911993900 commercial blender cutter blade

This is not a replacement for the blades that came with your blender.
This is not a good replacement for the blender cutter blade that came with the Hamilton Beach blender. Do not buy this cutter blade expecting to swap it for your existing cutter blade. You will be disappointed.

1. This item is not the same as the photograph in the Amazon listing. Yes, the photograph looks like the original cutter blade assembly that came with the blender when you bought it. No, the item you get will not look the same.

2. The blade shape is different and this affects the way the material moves in the blender. The material will move from side-to-side, slopping against the lid of the blender, rather than mixing smoothly. The original cutter blade was much better at blending smoothly, without the material sloshing all over the place.

3. The blade housing is conical, rather than the disk-with-post design of the original housing. The new design leaks quite easily through the bottom of the blade assembly, especially when blending thinner...

This IS the commercial cutter
I just had to contradict the one star reviewer here. I wanted a second cutter blade to go with my new travel cup (so I wouldn't have to swap the bottoms around), but after reading the one star review I was concerned that I wouldn't be receiving the same blade that came with the blender (the same one pictured). But the part number matched, so I took a leap and ordered it. This IS the commercial cutter that came with the commercial blenders... the picture is exactly what you'll get. I have to assume the one star reviewer either reviewed the wrong item or somehow was shipped the wrong item. I ordered this exact item, from this exact page, and I received the item pictured... which is the same exact cutter that came with my Hamilton Beach commercial blender. You get just what is pictured, no gasket and no bottom screw cap... so if you need those too get them seperately. I'm very happy with it, and I plan on getting another one (along with another travel cup). Like I said, I just...

Not as shown.
The cutter blades were not at right angles, destroying the balance at high speeds.
It is not the Hamilton beach cutter blade shown in the photograph.

DeLonghi D895UX Cool-Touch ROTO Electric 1-1/2-Pound-Capacity Food Fryer

Great for first time fryers
I have to admit, I had wanted to get a deep fryer to make my own french fries for a long time, but had the fear that sometimes goes along with one, such as the fear of cleaning up and the fear of safety. After buying the DeLonghi Fryer and using it for the first time, my fears quickly went away. This must be one of the easiest fryers on the market to clean and it's not a chore to bring it out to use it, knowing that you're going to have to clean up the mess afterwards. I've done quite a bit of frying in this fryer - french fries, sweet potato fries, donut bits, fish and battered veggies. I have not been disappointed with anything that I've made. The quality has been really good. If you're like me and you're afraid to get a fryer because of the cleaning factor - this is the one to get. You can't get anything easier to clean than this one. I also love the fact that this one uses less oil. Let's face it, deep frying isn't exactly health food, but the tilt system they...

One Small Problem
This is a great little fryer, but because of its limited capacity, it would be difficult to use for a family more than 2, in my opinion. The fryer works fantastic and I only have one complaint. There is an area on the rear of the fryer that collects oil and is difficult to clean. Imagine opening the lid and having all the moisture run to the back hinge of the lid. The oil that collects doesn't get into the rear hinge, but it collects in a small crevice that should be easier to clean. It's a small nuicance though since the fryer really works great; it wouldn't prevent me from purchasing it again. Also, the top does detach from the base which makes it very easy to clean, I just throw it in the dishwasher after I clean around the rubber seal. You can also throw the basket into the dishwasher and it comes out looking great as well.

This is in regards to the reviewer who said the fryer has poor performace with battered foods. If you put your battered items in the basket...

Cadillac of fryers!
I recently purchased this fryer from.... I am very pleased with the fryer. This is the Cadillac of deep fryers!

Pros: Cool touch sides. Digital timer. Rotating fry basket. Uses about

Waring 7314 blender cutter blade.

Fast Shipping from Goodman's
The Warning replacement blade is well made and easy to install. I needed the replacement because I just quite frankly wore the original one out after five years of pretty hard use. Must have made a million smoothies and frozen fruit and ice cubes finely took there toll on the blade tips.

Only complaint (more of a suggestion) is a nice exploded view drawing would be helpful when reassembling the new blade showing the gasket configuration on both sides of the glass jar. So be observant when you take your old one off and of course just reverse the installation order adding the extra gasket on the inside. What extra gasket you say! You get an extra gasket that needs to go on the inside to make up for the new gaskets thinner sizes.

I was able to remove the old blade and install the new one in about 15 minutes and the new blade reminded me why I purchased the Warning Anniversary model to being with - it now works like a new one. The wife is very happy as she really...

Wish it came with instructions
The blade is a replacement for my Waring 50th Anniversary Edition blender. The only thing that really bothers me is that it doesn't have any instructions on how it should be assembled into the blender cup. If you by a replacement blade, make sure to pay very close attention to how the previous blade and all of its seals are connected. It didn't help that this new blade came with an additional gasket seal in the assembly to account for the thinner rubber used in the new blade's gaskets. A few rounds of trial and error were necessary to make sure that the assembly didn't leak and didn't wear against itself while spinning.

Last set lasted through ~3,500 smooties!
This blade requires a socket wrench with at least a 6" extension to install. The first one I had lasted more than ten years (~3,500 smoothies), when the blade finally snapped off. This is actually a replacement for one installed on a new caraffe that I bought with a new blender a year ago. The new one didn't work properly when received (there was a problem with the washer configuration)....when blending anything hard, the blade would tighten, and I practically burned out the new motor). This new blade assembly solved the problem!

Continental Electric 3-Quart Round Metallic Red Slow Cooker

Excellent
This product was an excellent buy for the price. I have used it a few times and it makes the food delicious. My favorite way of cooking is a pressure cooker or cast iron. However, this is a good alternative when I go out and want to come home to cooked food. Also the color fits in with my red kitchen!

We Like this Little Crockpot
So far I have made ham and beans in my little crockpot and it was good.

This is a smaller crockpot but will make enough for one meal for 4 people. After using it, I also believe that it would be a better alternative to the larger pots when trying to keep dips and other "buffet" style foods warm for get togethers and parties.

The red color is a nice alternative too. I know it sounds kinds goofy, but I love the color. It's a really pretty metallic red. :)

I'm pleased that I purchased it, it's a nice addition to my kitchen arsenal.

The actual capacity is only 2 1/2 quarts
We just got this, so I can't say much about it's performance, but the description is not accurate. Filled to the rim, it only holds 2 1/2 quarts. Another odd thing is that the indicator light comes on when the unit is plugged in, regardless of whether it is actually turned on or not. Otherwise, it seems decent enough considering the cost.

Hamilton Beach 25475 Breakfast Sandwich Maker (Gray) + Grip Bread Knife 7"+ Accessory Kit

This one includes some Extras ...
I purchased my Breakfast Sandwich Maker at a local discount store and it did not include the bread knife or accessory kit - and having used mine, I'm not really sure they are that useful. Needless to say, do check other prices here on Amazon which are sold with and without the accessory kit.

So, do YOU eat breakfast sandwiches? Since I had my very first Egg McMuffin, they have been a mainstay in my diet. In fact, I own a very nice "little skillet" T-fal A8570084 Specialty Nonstick One Egg Wonder 4.5-Inch Fry Pan Dishwasher Safe Cookware, Grey that I use for just this purpose. Throw an English Muffin in the toaster, fry an egg in the pan, lay your cheese and precooked meat in the sandwich when it comes out of the toaster, and voila, instant sandwich.

This little doodad does just the same thing - except it is more limiting. You can only fit round bread in it (limiting it to English Muffins or...

Hamilton Beach 1-Liter Electric Kettle

Didn't last long.
This kettle heated water briskly, but mine didn't last long. The pot doesn't lift off the base. Since the cord is very short, this is a serious safety hazard if you absent-mindedly pick up the kettle without unplugging it--you reach the end of the cord and the kettle jerks and slops out boiling water. So I plugged and unplugged every time I used it. Turned out that the cord was so cheaply made that it frayed where it connects to the kettle. The day I saw a spark there I threw the kettle away. I won't buy another.

Know its features/deficiencies before buying
My wife chose to buy the Hamilton Beach 40875Z (from three electric kettles I had prescreened) to replace a decades old failing Mr. Coffee electric kettle. We only used the kettle for a week before happily replacing it with a Proctor Silex K2070. We, too, found the short fixed cord to be a great inconvenience and a possible risk for a harmful spill. Given that our electrical outlet is to the left of the counter, the lighted on/off switch was inconveniently positioned behind the unit as we used it. We were crestfallen to learn that the unit does not shut off once the water has reached a boil. It may have an auto-off feature to prevent melt-down, but none for the convenience of the consumer. The kettle's strength is in its rigorous boiling of water. Unfortunately, this increases the danger of scalding oneself when opening the lid. Contrary to the manual enclosed, the lid of our unit did not release from the upper handle (where a blank piece of plastic had been fitted) but from...

Love it!
I love my electric kettle and I can't imagine what I'd do without it. It makes everything so much simpler. I would repurchase this over and over again. Thank you.

E-ware Deep Fryer 1.2Lt Counter Top Series

smaller than expected, but works for one and a half people!
I wish they could make a mini big fryer with a handle that can fold down out of the way, but it works great so far!

Later review- it broke after 2 months of moderate use, just stopped getting hot. Pass the return policy date.

great little frier
Not very big thing but nice good for cooking snacks and great for cooking for the kids

great product in a compact form
This little fryer works great for 1-2 servings, and it takes up a small amount of space so it works well for someone in an apartment. There are some reviews complaining about the short, magnetic cord but we found it works quite well as long as you don't stretch the cord out too far. Since pulling the unit close to the edge of the counter top is dangerous, this acts as a safety measure too.

CASO Germany Pro Chef 1800 Commercial Induction Burner

A big disappointment
The product just does not live up to the price, expectations and product specs. Aside from the loud fan, no serious chef will be happy with this. If you're going to use it to heat up pasta in a skillet or make an omelet fine, but anything else like boiling water for a pasta bar party. No. It just does not keep water hot when you add items. You will be embarrassed, and your friends embarrassed for you. I thought that I wasn't using the product correctly, but then I read some other reviewers who said the same thing.

LEM Products Stainless Steel Tilting Mixer (50-Pound)

LEM Products Stainless Steel Tilting Mixer (50-Pound)
Works great as a mixer. It fits up well with the drive on the grinder so the motorized operation is smooth and reliable. The only reaon it doesn't get five stars is the cleanup is hard. The bearings for the paddles can trap food and are hard to clean. This isn't enough to keep me from using it every couple weeks to mix up large batches of raw cat food and I can't imagine doing it with anything smaller.

It's a great, heavy duty unit and, combined with the heavy duty grinder, will provide many years of service whether making sausage, hamburger, or cat food.

Works great
Does everything that the makers claim. It takes some strength to turn the handle when full so be prepared for a minor work out but still much easier than mixing by hand. Disassembles easily to clean. The model that tilts is the way to go.

good product
It worked very well, easy to use and clean up was simple. I used some PAM and that seemed to help with keeping things from sticking. Assembly and disassembly was simple, only thing to remember is to keep track of the plastic bushing on the drive shaft, likes to fall off when removing the paddles. I used the crank handle and was satisfied, sure beat doing it in a tub by hand. thanks.

GrainMaster WhisperMill Electric Grain Mill -- Replaced by WonderMill

Worst Mill We Have Ever Used
We have used many types of grain mills, and this one was by far the worst. We used triple cleaned grain, and were experienced with the use of grain mills.

It was not significantly quieter than the K-tec, and had numerous problems. All I can think is that people who like it lack the experience to know that there is anything better, or just never used it much!

The worst aspect of the design is the tube that goes from the mill to the bin. It is CURVED, so you really can't clean it out! And it clogs easily - it narrows dramatically right where it attaches to the bin. When it clogs, it impacts flour up into the mill - causing a problem that you may or may not be able to fix yourself. The tube could also get impacted if you accidentally started or stopped the mill when there was wheat in the hopper - something which happens with regular frequency given the propensity of the mill to shut down unexpectedly in operation (or to have to be shut down).

The tube...

best of the best
We have used grain mills of various manufacture, makes, models, and power for over 30 years. I still have 6 still operational units of various types taking up space in my workshop. But there is only one in the kitchen, and as long as there is electricity flowing through the kitchen circuitry, that is all you will find there if my wife has anything to say about it. We have a Whisper Mill that sees nearly daily duty grinding flour for two families. This machine is at least 15 years old and has never, repeat never once failed to produce an outstanding quality product whether it is wheat, rice, quinoa (sp?), amaranth, you name a common grain and it has been through this machine. I read the review of the individual who has had so many issues and I can't believe we are talking about the same machine. We have replaced one piece on our machine in the years we have had it, that is the foam filter in the top of the product container. I bough a packet of 3 several years ago and still...

Works great for us
I love this thing. Not having had a wheat grinder ever it seems "loud" (it kind of sounds like an air plane taking off) but it isn't deafening. I've ground grains while my 2 year old slept in her room which shares a wall with the kitchen.

It works well. It's easy to clean. I love having the container that closes. Good product!

KitchenAid KMT211OB 2-Slice Toaster, Onyx Black

not quite
Read and researched a lot of toasters before deciding on this one. I've always used a toaster oven for toasting my bread but the present one, not that old, no longer yields acceptable bread. I've always heard that if you want evenly browned, still moist, toast, you need an old fashioned toaster. And so my search began.
I opted for this one as it was smaller (2 slice) and appeared to be a mid-priced item. Most reviews were positive and the brand is well respected. It came quickly but did not work. I never had to return an item to Amazon before but found it amazingly simple. Since the item was defective they paid for the return postage. They immediately shipped out a replacement and it came priority UPS. Number 2 worked. We have been using it for several weeks now
and I would rate it as "okay". My daughter's toasts faster and my mother's toasts more evenly. Played with the settings but it over-toasts the top edge of the bread or bagel every time. Feels flimsy- but everything...

Good Toaster
I went with this toaster based on all the positive reviews here on Amazon and I have not been disappointed. The toaster looks nice and is very simple to use. The bagel setting is nice to have. It is nice how the blue led lights blink down in succession to indicate when the toasting will be done. I would have given a 5 star rating except for the extra lift function really doesn't provide that much more lift, especially with english muffins. Overall I am very satisfied with this toaster.

Toaster is OK but not perfect
The bread I use requires that I set it at the maximum toasting time. Don't know what would be required for typical light weight bread. Even with the extra lift feature - it sometimes needs more lift if the bread it not standard height. If bread is a little longer than standard it won't fit and you have to cut some off. Since I don't eat bagels, I can't comment on that feature. The lowering mechanism is the best I've encountered - it just seems more perfected. Because of the limited lift height and shortness of opening I can't rate it any better than a 3. It's OK and for all I know there may not be anything better on the market - you can't try them all.

Electric Skillet - Chefman Family Sized 12 inch Electric Skillet (RJ05)

Great product.
Simple assembly out of the box. Heats evenly. Warms up quickly. The skillet is thick-walled and holds heat well. It is very heavy-duty and appears as though it will last a long time. Easy to see cooking progress through the glass top. Also, it's great to have it in black considering how difficult it is to keep an electric skillet looking great long term. The 25 year old skillet I retired for this one looked scary. I've been shopping for a larger, well constructed skillet for a while but thought they were all quite pricey. (I know, if I only buy one every 25 years I shouldn't be so cheap.) Anyway, this one sale-priced at Amazon was a better price than I was able to find at any of the national chain stores on sale. I have tried many electric skillets and this one is the best so far.....it's extra deep and the glass top really makes it easy to see what your cooking

Awesome skillet for the price
I love this skillet! I really can't say it enough. I am in college, and living in a kind of crappy house that came with a crappy stove. This skillet is great for everyday use for me. I use it to make grilled cheese, fry eggs, stirfry...pretty much anything! You just plug it into an outlet, and turn it to the desired heat, or just put it on "keep warm" if you want to keep like toast warm or something. It takes literally a minute to get to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

I definitely recommend this skillet. It is easy, quick, and great for one or two people! I have had it for over a year, use it every day, and so far no problems.

There are more expensive options on Amazon but for the 29.99 I paid its definitly doing the job well. I wouldn't spend anymore unless you are looking for something to use on a commercial basis.

Poor Quality Item
I am very disgusted with the quality of this item. After I got it out of the package I noticed the one side handle / legs combo was loose. I try to tighten the two screws, the one was apparently stripped, would not tighten. a month or so later that screw just dropped out. That handle is loose, and I have to handle in gingerly. The dial, the numbers on the low end in dark red, 200 to 250 degrees are next each other, no markings to keep a refer to each time. The next set of numbers is 300 to 425 degrees, right next to each other with black lettering in a dark brown, hard to read, no marking to be able to come back to each time, for consistent cooking. It's a hassle to repack and return to Amazon an item such as this. It does heat up quickly, but I'm not really sure what the temperature is at or near, just have to watch it carefully. From now on I'm buying small appliances locally, then I can see up close what the item looks like, and return, right to the store, instead of going to the...

works, but rather rickety

Aroma ARC-787D-1NG 14-Cup (Cooked) Digital Rice Cooker & Food Steamer

Great rice cooker
Because my basic 1 button - 2 setting (cook/warm) rice cooker stopped working several months ago, I decided that (for health reasons & if I could afford to) I would like to upgrade the replacement with a model that would SPECIFICALLY cook brown as well as white rice. After having numerous servings of unappetizing brown rice at various times & sources in my life, I felt it was the cooker (person OR machine) that was to blame. After doing some research pertaining to different types of rice and how they should be prepared, I've learned that to cook brown rice correctly it should begin with SEVERAL MINUTES ON LOW HEAT then brought to a boil to finish cooking before reducing to keep warm prior to serving. If you bring brown rice to a boil right away, it doesn't soften the outside of the grain and ends up seemingly undercooked. And if you just add more water at the beginning without the appropriate low heat step, it will result in the rice being mushy & overcooked. After the cooking phase,...

Great Rice cooker for 1 - 2 people
I own a larger Aroma Rice Cooker that has the "steam" trey and lid that closes the unit completely while cooking. The larger unit cooks OK, but because of its size, I don't use it much. It also is harder to clean, since the lid assembly is part of the unit, and is difficult to clean.

This rice cooker is great for cooking just a few cups (1-3) of rice. It does it fast and as well as the larger units. It cleans up easily, since the lid is not part of the rice cooker assembly, and is a "normal" lid like other pots & pans.

I have read some of the other reviews Re: it takes such a long time to cook large portions. There are dozens of different rice cookers make by Aroma. If you plan on cooking larger portions of rice often, this is not the unit for you. For daily servings of 1-3 cups, it is quick, easy-to-use, does a great job, easy to clean up, and is much smaller taking less counter and storage space.

the little rice cooker that can
Lots of cookers cost more but I doubt they do any better delivering perfect brown rice every time. I've used it weekly for a year with no complaint. It's still it new condition and still delivering 4 cups of perfectly cooked brown rice every week. I don't usually write reviews but I felt I had to say something so others could save their money on more expensive cookers. Prep note: be sure to use the enclosed measuring cup, not a standard cup. For 4 cups of brown rice I fill the water to the next mark past the 4 cup mark (4 1/2) less water and the rice may burn a bit.

Breville RM-BTA840XL Certified Remanufactured Die-Cast 4-Slice Smart Toaster

You won't regret a penny!
I bought myself one for $250 with a coupoin for $50 off. I'm over the top thrilled with this toaster. We've been using it for a year now. Bought this one as a gift to the contractor who did our kitchen reno.

Second one works.
The first one did not heat up in the center. Sent it back to Breville. They sent me another refurb. This one is great. Toasts consistently and is very cool.

Unhappy experience with the "Amazon Warehouse "
Purchased as a refurbished item despite my wife urging caution. After many years of multiple transactions with Amazon I was confident they would ship a working product and handle the transaction with their with customary efficiency and care. My confidence was a little shaken when I saw the totally inadequate packaging - just a couple of layers of folded brown paper top and bottom of the unit in s generic ill fitting box and no manual or safety instructions. However the toaster looked undamaged. On plugging in the two right hand slots would only toast on one side. Impossible to say if it was working when it left the warehouse but given other reviewers comments I have my doubts. Amazon have been prompt in send out a return label but the whole episode has just been a big waste of time. Amazon should pay greater attention to bringing the "Amazon Warehouse " user experience in line with their generally excellent business practices.

Weston #32 Stainless Steel Pro - Series Electric Meat Grinder and Stuffer

Excellent heavy duty grinder
I purchased this grinder a few years ago and grind approximately 200lb of meat and bone in it each week. It works like a champ each time and clean up isn't too bad. The only issue I had was that one of the prongs from the electric plug got stuck in my outlet. Was a bit of an ordeal to get a new plug put on it but in the end it was fine. Weston has excellent customer service and was able to explain the details of replacing the plug to the shop I brought it to. I am thinking I need another grinder since I am grinder so much and will probably just buy another of these 32's.

Great Meat Grinder
This meat grinder is wonderful! The best one I have owned. It can grind anything! Even bone.

GE 12-Cup Deep Fryer

GE Deep Fryer 12 Cup (3000ml) Model Number 169219 53
GE Deep Fryer 12 Cup (3000ml) Model Number 169219 53

This GE deep fryer is just the right size for frying food such as French fries, chicken, or fish pieces. The deep fryer has a rated power of 1500 W. Before plugging in your deep fryer, ensure that the electrical circuit is not overloaded with other appliances, i.e. toaster or microwave. If you have these on the counter top just don't use them at the same time as the deep fryer. This appliance should always be operated on a separate 120 V-60 Hz AC outlet.

The assembly of the deep fryer is straight forward as there is a guide with pictures explaining all the parts and what they do in the owner's manual. GE has a website as well about ecomagination. In keeping with the GE ecomagination initiative, please consider the option to recycle the packaging material and donate any appliance you no longer need or using.

I found that that there is a fill line in the oil reservoir where the minimum oil capacity is...

deep fryer handy and cost effective
I have had a few of these of the years. While it doesn't last a great amount of time... only a couple of years... It is just the right size and shape for what I want and inexpensive enough that I don't mind replacing it. Also since the basket and oil container are exactly the same as the previous ones ...I have extra so I can pull it out and immediately put in an other to use, while it is being cleaned

Does the job just fine.
I bought this fryer about a year and a half ago and have used it A LOT. I mostly use it for fried fish, French fries, tots, etc.. It has been left on my back porch patio table the entire time I've owned it and although its in a covered area it has been rained on countless times and exposed to extreme cold and heat and is still working just fine. It's very easy to disassemble and spray with a garden hose to clean. It usually takes 10-12 min to reach my usual frying temperature and re-heats up again pretty quick between batches. I live by myself and it's perfect for cooking for 1-2 people. Anymore than that and I would recommend a larger fryer, however I have used this one to cook for 5+ people on a few occasions. All in all it's been a great and sturdy little fryer that has lasted far longer outdoors than I would have expected and for a low price. Maybe I just got lucky but I love this thing. Time to go fire it up now!

New Saachi SA1650 - Tortilla Press / Roti / Wraps / Pita & Flat Bread Maker - Nonstick with Temperature Control

Horrible product
I borrowed this brand new tortilla maker from my friend. And the very first press, the plastic near the base broke into two. It still works but very cheap quality.

Misleading product
It does not do pita bread. That was a lie. It is only good for tortilla. If you needed for tortilla go for it. Not for Pita. They should remove pita from the title

Blend it Please!
I use this blender at work for commercial applications. It's very Quiet and easy to use. It makes some of the best smoothies i have ever tasted and QUIET!. It blends ice well and doesn't leave Chunks. I like how it has a Digital Display that you can choose Different blending times and programs. It feels well Built. The only Con i can can think of is the Blades are non removable that can make Cleaning annoying, it has plenty of power for all your blending needs.

its the pro
Been using blenders in my smoothie business for 13 years- this is the quietest one yet and with 3 hp- it makes smoothies really fast !! none better !

Love this blender
Love this blender. Wish it did some of the things the cheaper Vitamix models do like handle things really tough to blend veggies and warm soup, for the money it should. Not a big problem, just turn it off and push the stuff down with a spatula. What I wanted most was a QUIET professional blender. I just about lost my hearing with my blendtex model. I LOVE the quiet blending of this model of Vitamix and the extra large capacity.

FoodSaver MealSaver Compact Vacuum Sealing System

Dont discriminate unit for being WHITE
Unit seems well built and works great. i found the cordless version ("Fresh Saver") and thought maybe i should have gotten it, but I am glad i got the unit i did. Alot better quality than i expected for $15. After receiving it the box broke down Fresh vs. Meal vs. FoodSavers for me, which i did not see in the advertisement.
*FRESH saver - short term storage
*MEAL saver - medium term storage
*FOOD saver - long term storage and also works with heat seal bags, rolls and canisters in addition to the zipper bags, mealsaver brand containers, and mason jars (with attachment)which are sealed by the other units.
i also got the wide mouth jar attachment. neither the unit or the attachment came with the adapter to connect them as pictured, but if you just press down on the attachment with the vacuum it will still seal.
would have liked the BLACK unit with same function, but it was twice as much for whatever reason...

A little tubing 2 zip ties and now it perfect..
I was looking for a better way to keep my collection of loose leaf teas.
I have started keeping my teas in mason jars and use this with the jar sealer to keep them fresh. Works much better than the the old tins and bags I had been using. Jars are easier to clean and don't rust. This unit was not designed to work with the mason jar sealer but a quick trip to the hardware store a short peace of tubing and 2 zip ties solved that problem. I just removed the clear part at the bottom put the tubing on the protruding stem and insert the end of the accessory hose and zip tied.
It worked so well I have even started putting my left overs in the jars and vacuum sealing them. Mason jars last don't leach chemicals into your food last for ever as long as gravity doesn't intervene and the lids are standard and easy to replace as needed.

New Vacuum works - bags don't
I own and use larger Foodsaver products but this whole concept is a dud. The first unit (with extension tube) failed after two months. I called Foodsaver and they courteously and promptly replaced it with the "All-in-one" unit without the pull out hose. As they did not request return of the original, I opened it up to find out what the problem was. Everything was well made except for one vital part. The hose connected to the vacuum pump with a tiny right angle tube made, not of nylon, but of flimsy "bend to snap" plastic. The result was the same as making a garden spigot out of model airplane plastic and then attaching a 100' hose. Pull-bend-Pull-bend-POP! The replacement self contained unit avoids this problem and works very well - which is more than I can say for the bags. I have used different sizes and different product runs (Different labels on bags) and the failure rate is over 50%. The bags are made with a self sealing valve that simply doesn't work half the time. Even worse,...

Nostalgia CFK-595 Cotton-Candy Maker Refill Kit

This kit is cool, but the price is not.
Please be aware that this kit does not include a cotton candy machine. You need to have one of your own.
This kit includes replacement paper cones for use with your machine, and 4 small packets of floss (colored and flavored sugar for use in making cotton candy).

I'm sure this is a fine set, but $20+ is the wrong price. Something close to $5 is the right price.

If you've seen this kit and the small, toy machine amount of floss that it comes with, you will laugh out loud when you see that you can buy 52oz of floss for under $4.00 right here on Amazon by searching for this item:
Great Western Pink Vanilla Sugar Floss 52OZ #16085
Of course, that amount of floss with a toy machine will last you several decades. But that's a good thing, right?

The right size for the right price
A good buy for the refill kit to the nostalgia cotton candy machine. i suggest purchasing this when you order something else from amazon so as to get the free shipping. this is the right amount for a small-medium party. you get both the cones and the two flavors of sugar in one box. the other sugars avalible on amazon are good too, i just suggest taking into account what you actually need because the sugars do age with time.....i had a big box of sugar and it sat in my cabinet for a couple months and they do go stale. not to mention the shipping cost for the big boxes are high, around $10 and you still have to get cones

better provide plastic candy holder
The sugar is OK and it's colorful and with 2 types of flavours. I also tried regular sugars from domino, actually the regular works easier.
I will complain the paper candy holders the kit provided, they are not easily separated from each other and so easily got crashed. I like the 2 plastic holders that the machine provided.

Omcan SM-G50 Electric Meat Grinder

Decent for occasional use
This grinder has worked well so far it is a 350 watt grinder with a larger than normal auger and throat (compared to most 350 watt styles) as long as you don't push it to hard it will work decent but if you try to force it it will bog down quickly, on the up side it appears to be well made and is easy to break down and clean....would have given it more stars but it is not as powerful as I was hoping for.

Gerber Gear Pocket Ceramic Sharpener

Not ceramic despite of item description
I bought 3 thinking they were ceramic sharpeners, but instead I received the much cheaper diamond version. I already have the diamond version, but I was hoping to get the ceramic ones for better performance.

Ceramic Sharpener
The ceramic bars form an X within a flimsy plastic holder, I was expecting more from Gerber.
Some epoxy all the way around the outside makes the shell solid enough and keeps it from opening.

This product gets 3 stars because the ceramic bars are of good quality, and sharpen well enough.
Intended use was kitchen and utility, however it's quality has limited it to fishing knives and blades of lower quality.

Surprising Gadget
I was first introduced to the knife sharpener while in Wausau, WI. Fiskars was hosting an inventory reduction sale, and had some in stock for a buck ... I figured there was no way to go wrong for the price. What a shocker when I found that the darned thing actually worked well.

This may well be the sharpener for those who can't [sharpen knives]. I have tried various sharping tools through the years. Of all sharpeners, this one has returned the most consistent and decent result. So yeah, I haven't a knack for sharpening knives with other tools and stones, but this inexpensive tool really delivers. In fact, results have been better than what I've obtained through professional knife sharpening service providers. I use it to keep my old line Chicago Cutlery knives sharp as, if not sharper than, when new 40 years ago. The sharpener works great for my pocket knives as well.

I'll add that my 88 year old mother has tried it, and is convinced that it works. Steels...

Break resistant plastic blender jar for Oster & Osterizer.

Oster Jar
The product was delivered on time, fits the blender well, but does not have the lid that fits tight. The original Oster Jar lid does not fit tight and spilling is quite possible. May be it is sold separately, I did not see it.

May look cheap, but it ain't
The description says the jar is made of Makrolon, which is a specific brand of polycarbonate, also known as Lexan. It is not plain old plastic - in fact it is more durable than its glass counterpart and costs more to manufacture. It may feel like ordinary plastic but it is not. It is heat resistant and will take 212 degree boiling water without damage or cracking, and is extremely difficult to scratch. It is used in skyscrapers for its optical clarity, high impact strength, and weather resistance. Armored vehicles use a different grade of it to deflect bullets. Even the food grade version, for all practical purposes, is virtually unbreakable. Medical laboratories use it because it is non-reactive. It won't absorb odors like cheap tupperware.

This jar isn't made by or endorsed by Oster but is an aftermarket part. Most commercial blender jars used in professional kitchens are made our of this same stuff, it is definitely not the same plastic junk used in many of the cheap...

Poor Product Quality and WORSE Customer Service from Goodman's
When you do a keyword search on Amazon for replacement Oster blender jars, the results page leads you to believe that these are actual Oster branded blended jars. When you click on a specific item you realize that these are just cheap knock-offs that are suppose to fit all Oster blenders. Of course they don't actually fit all Oster blenders or else I would not have to return this cheap knock-off that was priced almost as much as the real deal.

In initiating my return I followed the online instructions directing me to Goodman's website to print a return form. Of course the Goodman's website asked for the Goodman's order #, NOT the Amazon order #. I of course did not have the Goodman's order # because my blender jar arrived without any documentation at all in the box. I sent Goodman's two emails, neither of which they responded to. After I contacted Amazon for a refund, Goodman's finally sent me a generic email directing me to their website, which of course asked me for...

Farberware Black Double Burner

Not good
I purchased this double burner to use for cooking in my cabin (no stove in the cabin). The box makes it look like it is a regular double burner, like a stovetop. It is NOT like a stovetop! Firstly, it doesn't get very hot. This was explained in the product manual inside the box, but nowhere was this info to be found on the box/description itself. You cannot brown anything or fry anything with this burner because it will not produce enough heat for that. The manual says it is for gently boiling, not frying or browning. As for the boiling, it took probably 25 minutes to get a pot of water to barely boiling using the large burner on this unit.
Basically, if you want something to use to boil small amounts of water (maybe a small teapot full), this might work. If you want something that will actually cook your food, avoid this one. It might eventually get something cooked, but it will take an insanely long time. I hate writing bad reviews, but i am truly sorry I purchased...

disappointed!
It work great the firts few weeks but now it goes off every minute, so the cooking takes for ever.

Roll Dispenser use for Vacuum Bag rolls or Poly Tubing - Bags-on-a-roll

A must for tubing!
I purchased a massive roll of poly tubing, but neglected to initially purchase the dispenser. Epic fail. The tubing rolls are so massive that to NOT have this product is nothing shy of a major headache. The bar is roughly 15" wide so it not only holds my 4.5" poly tube roll, but also the safety stickers I use. Also, it could easily handle 2 rolls depending on the width. This is one very sturdy dispenser and money well spent.

Chris Freytag K20911 15" x 11" Non-Stick Black Health Grill

Sections of coating missing
The grill arrived with sections of non stick coating missing around the top edge. Instead of the dark coating it had silver metal showing on one side. I called the number provided with the warranty and explained the problem. A new grill was sent to me. When it arrived it had a corner that was dented and silver metal showing. It looked worse than the original grill I had. It seemed to have been packed well and the box it arrived in was in good shape. It made me think that the grill may have been damaged before it was wrapped in bubble wrap and packed in the shipping box. I once again called the warranty dept. I was told that I could use it because the coating was not off in the grill cooking area. I was told I would have to send it back to West Bend and then wait and see if it would be replaced because even though it looked bad it would still be functional. Mr. Coffee Single Serve Coffee Maker

Experieced User Still Likes It
The single bad review of this product is far off the mark. "Received it today" is a clue that the reviewer just might be clueless. I have owned and used a white version of this Mr. Coffee CPC model for at least four years. It works and it works flawlessly. The removable filter holder takes small-sized Melita filters just fine. (You can leave the filter out to get a cup of hot water for tea VERY quickly.) The complaint that the filter holder has only one hole is ridiculous. One hole is all that is needed. Any more and the water might pass through the coffee grounds too quickly.

The cup space is high enough for a large cup or mug, although a tall cylindrical travel mug won't fit. (I don't find it too difficult to pour from a brewed cup into a travel mug.)

One plus this unit has over many other one-cup brewers is that it turns off automatically.

One negative is that is it possible to over-fill the reservoir. This is avoided by using the same cup...

Prefer this over Keurig models
I purchased both the Keurig (Costco model) and a single serve Keurig for my office. The single serve model is more trouble than it's worth and quickly went to the break table where no one uses it. While staying in Anchorage at the Captain Cook hotel, I was provided this single serve Mr. Coffee and absolutely loved it! The unit used Starbucks coffee pods (not K cups) and made excellent coffee quickly. I used a 12 ounce paper cup supplied by the hotel to measure and pour in the water, then set the cup underneath for the fresh brewed coffee. I know there has to be coffee pods available for this unit and I plan to buy both them and this unit for my office. Don't use a pod and you will have almost instant hot water for your tea or other beverages. Can't beat simple!

Uses regular coffee
I see other consumers rate this low because of the mistaken belief it takes only pods or pre-made packets. Not true. It has a permanent filter in it to use regular coffee grounds. The pods/packets are just another option. See the Sunbeam website for on-line manual. We've had one of these machines for about 20+ years! First used at home, now at our cabin. This machine, as well as the single Black&Decker machine (~$20), works great for a single cup. We use the B&D one at home, after taking this one to the cabin. You won't be disappointed with either.....

Super Angel Juicer + Juicing Start Up Guide - All Stainless Steel Twin Gear- 5500

The Angel Juicer
We bought our Angel 5500 based on the recommendation from a friend since I was having some inflammation related health issues and he thought juicing might help. He was right! We love, love, love our Angel Juicer and use it every day. I feel better, I can't say the juicing "cured" me but I know I feel much better, have more energy and actually look forward to my juice every day. The machine is easy to use and clean and the juice is delicious!! Highly recommended!

Perfection.
Bright, pulp-free juice, easy to disassemble and clean, and an attractive addition to my kitchen countertop. I highly recommend it!

So Much Better Than A Champion!
Wow!!! Just used my Super Angel juicer for the first time this morning, (got it late yesterday afternoon), what a difference in juice. For the first time I had cold juice without any little bits of pulp. Just clean juice that tasted great. The clean up was super easy, I didn't have to scrub to get carrot juice stains off the plastic parts because there are no plastic parts. The pulp was very fine and rinsed down the drain with water whereas before I had to push the pulp down the drain with my hand because it was too wet and heavy to rinse away. Well worth the money.

Cuisinart (DGB-900BC) 12 Cup Grind & Brew Coffeemaker (Brushed Chrome) + Cuisinart DCG-12BC Grind Central Coffee Grinder (Refurbished)

Buy if you love coffee
This is the best coffee maker of the many I've had over the years.

It makes a consistantly great brew each time, something I couldn't always count on, even with other Cuisinart models.

The burr grinder and funky automatic drip basket assembly, along with the strength selector give you an easier path to a good cup.

Also, its easier to clean than the less expensive Cuisinart models with the blade based grinders.

Don't overlook the carafe. This one is the thermal model, NOT THE GLASS one. The thermal carafe model doesn't burn the coffee in the pot by heating it. It just insulates it really well so it stays warm for hours. After years of other coffee makers, this feature alone makes it worth it -- the later cups don't taste burnt!

One caution, this carafe has a top that seals in the heat, and when you get near empty is a pain to get out the last drops. When you get to your last pour, just take off the top of the carafe and pour...

Coffee Taste and Grinder
Beautiful coffee maker - however, it uses way to many coffee beans when grinding and does not give me the great coffee taste I had from my prior coffeemaker. I now grind my own beans and use the machine like my prior one and everything taste like normal.

Great Coffee Maker!
The coffee maker is just great, but the vac coffee canister, not so much!
It doesn't completely vacuum the air, and it's too small also.

Hamilton Beach 66333 Fresh Mix 2-Cup Citrus Juicer

Easy way to drink your citrus fruits
This juicer was easy to use right out of the box. The four suction cups on the base hold the juicer steady on the counter while the juicer is working. The unit comes with two plastic reamers (small one for limes, lemons, etc., and a large one for grapefruit, oranges, etc.) that snap together for easy usage and storage. I've only used this juicer for juicing citrus, but the unit can also be used for mixing fresh salad dressings and marinades. The plastic carafe has two recipes printed on one side (citrus marinade and citrus vinaigrette) and liquid measurements printed on the other side (1/4 cup through 2 cups, and 50 ml through 500 ml). The parts are advertised as dishwasher safe, but I've been washing the parts by hand.

The motor in this juicer works well for a small kitchen appliance. I juiced almost two bags of oranges with this juicer one morning and had no problems with the motor overheating or failing. If you're wondering just how much fruit it takes to make 1 cup of...

I Love This!
Every day I would juice 2 oranges, 1 lemon and 1 lime by hand to make a 40 ounce container of citrus 'agua de fresca'. It took quite a while to juice, play with the pulp to try to get all the juice to flow throw the screen, then try to juice the rest of the citrus. I went on a search for an electric citrus juicer. I wanted small, easy to use and low cost. I looked at a few and decided on this one, even though the unfavorable review. Juiced all the citrus very quickly (compared to hand) and it got all of the juices out and hardly left anything behind except the rinds. If you stop pressing, the mechanism then turns the reamer the opposite direction. As it turns, it clears the pulp so the juices keep flowing into it's own measuring cup. I was able to get a lot more juice than doing it by hand. It comes with 2 reamer sizes, I use the large one to juice the oranges, then take it off and the small one is already on the machine (the large sits on top of the small) so it's ready to go...

Super performance and it's affordable
Great design and features!
Works wonderfully.
I bought one for myself and a friend and we both love it.
No complaints so far :)
Suctions super well to the counter which also impressed me - most things I have with suction cups don't.
Gets every last drop from the fruit!

All Clad Electric Induction Burner

Almost perfect with design flaws
I received the All-Clad induction burner from Williams-Sonoma.com a few days ago. I was delighted to finally experience the induction cooking. The unit is very attractive in design and finish. It is substantial but it is easy to move around. It has a well lit display, actual buttons to push and a dial to turn to select menus, manual modes and set the timer. The variety of controls is excellent. There are three choices! One is preset. You select a cooking program by pushing the "MENU" button from Melt to Sear, the total of 7 (seven) choices. There are two manual modes. One is description mode from EX LOW to HIGH (6 settings). The second manual mode gives a range from 1 to 10.
I used manual mode 1 in EX LOW to cook rice in a 2.5-qt LeCreuset pot. First, I boiled liquid (chicken broth) using "MENU" option "BOIL", and then I switched to EX-LOW using the manual mode. The switch to manual mode was instant. There was nothing to turn off, just to press on the "MODE" button. On EX LOW,...

Basically good, but flawed
This unit looks like it is very well made and is quite attractive, but also quite chunky and a bit higher than other models I have seen. The overall impression is of a robust, professional product. I can't comment on the reliability, because I ran it for about 10 minutes before returning it.

I had three main problems with it:

1. It looks like it has a knob for setting the power level, but in fact, it is a switch. From other reviews, I knew it was not continuously variable, but I had nevertheless assumed that if I turned the knob half-way through its range I would get half-power. In fact, to increase power you twist it to the right and it increases by one step. To increase another step, return it to its home position (it is spring loaded) and twist to the right again.
